My 1975 BMWs affectionate nick-name is ‘The Magnet.’ I’ve owned it since 1998 and there is nothing quite like taking it for a cruise on a lovely summer’s evening.

Over the years it’s been looked after by my friend Pat Gill from leading BMW specialists Cooks Ferry Engineering in Enfield, London. What Pat doesn’t know about BMWs isn’t worth knowing and I’m very grateful for his advice and expertise.

Several places on the car were starting to rust. None of the rust patches were really bad - but if they weren't deal with them I'd have significant problems in a couple of years time. So the car went up on the ramp, has the trim and bumpers removed and a thorough steam-clean. Over the years, the underneath of the car had lost it's protective coats of thick paint and was in danger of rusting. Pat and his team cleaned, scraped and then re-painted the underneath. In the true spirit of volunteering they were happy to do whatever was asked of them from cleaning to painting to leafleting.

Anish and Sundeep were given the task of painting the wall in the loading bay. They scraped the surface flat... ... and then got to work painting. By the afternoon the painting team expanded as other tasks were completed - and a second coat had been applied. The painting team: Priyesh, Anish Dipz and Sundeep Karen, Martin and Jennie didn't just give the kitchen a 'deep clean' - they attacked any grime or dirt they found with total comittment! They cleaned everything - from top to bottom. Meanwhile, Raj and Tracey cleaned the main community areas. Roy and Craig joined Ben (centre) to give another kitchen that Emmaus runs in Vauxhall a thorough clean. When they got back to West Norwood they then begun work on kitchen number 2 for the day. Emmaus Lambeth is a very busy community. The kitchen serves up to 80 covers a day, so to have an enthusiastic team of volunteers help with a thorough clean was brilliant. Roy, Martin, Karen and Jennie all hard at work. Meanwhile... Rick, Graham, Cara, Sarah and Fiona were all out leafleting. An Cos, a luxury highland home available for rent. (It’s website was designed and built by Bronny.)

The Torridon which has won numerous ‘Hotel of the Year’ awards. The Torridon has also been recommending my wedding photography business since 2003.

An Cos is a beautiful highland home, owned by our friends Chrissy and Richard. They very kindly invited me, Bronny, Kalleen and Mo to stay there for a week. When we arrived afternoon tea was waiting for us. Not something we were expecting! And we weren't expecting the local salmon platter either... An Cos has beautiful views over Loch Shieldaig. This is my favourite part of the house where I was quite content reading and watching the weather gradually move across the water as the days progressed. The dining room - and whole house - can comfortably accommodate 12 adults. Bronny and I stayed in the main bedroom - which is bigger than the upstairs of our whole house in London! There is nothing quite like a roaring fire, when it's bitterly cold outside and the snow has begun to fall. 'Team An Cos, 2013.' If you like to eat, I would highly recommend going on holiday with three girls that like to cook. My contribution: warming the red wine over the log fire. Kalleen, Bronny and Mo made hand-made ravioli for dinner Cheers! An absolutely awesome meal. Next stop, the Shieldaig Bar. Andy and Frosty were playing, but when they found out Kalleen had skills, she was invited to join in. Here she is singing that old Scottish folk standard made popular by Brittany Spears, 'Hit me baby one more time.' This is what we look like when I'm not leaning on a mantelpiece. This is the way to start a Sunday morning. The view across the Loch to the village are always wonderful - but I think they are at their best when the sun is rising or setting. Shieldaig Village There are a handful of places we visit on each visit to Shieldaig - this beach looking towards the Isle of Skye is known locally as Sand. This is Camus an Leim, my favourite beach. Around its edges are tumbledown stone walls where houses once stood. Seventy or eighty years ago this beach and it's surrounding area would have supported a small community. This is Shieldaig from across the Loch. An Cos is on the far left of this photo. Sunset An Cos as night falls Seven miles from An Cos is 'The Torridon.' The Times newspaper recently compiled a list of the top 100 hotels in the world, and The Torridon was ranked 13. One of the many reasons for this is it's exceptional Whisky Bar... ... and another is it's amazing food... this is cod caught locally. This is beef from the hotel's own heard of Highland Cattle. This dish was 'pre-desert.' There just not enough 'pre-desert' in my life! And to accompany teas and coffee, mini-marshmallows. A great way to finish off a lovely evening. So if you fancy doing some serious lounging around, surrounded by amazing scenery, with some incredible local food, then I'd highly recommend heading up to An Cos and The Torridon. One of my most successful converts is Denny Watkins, who is now Chairman of the official Chicago Spurs supporters club. Denny and his wife Heather came to visit us and the theatre of dreams: White Hart Lane.

Introducing our heroine and hero - Heather and Denny - standing outside Tottenham's 'finest' greasy-spoon eatery Denny and Heather spent a brief hour in the Spurs shop while they stocked-up on flags, player figurines, key-rings and Spurs branded knit-wear. The hallowed entrance.... Denny stood alongside the famous Danny Blanchflower quote before the Spurs marketing team arrived to meet us including... ...Martin Chivers, Spurs all-time 3rd highest goal scorer. We were shown the Spurs Hall of fame Which included Martin Chivers Heather and Denny sat in the seats where AVB and Steffen Freund sit during match-day. Denny's presence at White Hart Lane was obviously a big deal. Spurs have a growing and loyal fan base in the USA and he was interviewed about Chicago Spurs - on Spurs TV. Spurs' latest signing... As close as I will ever get to running onto the hallowed turf Assistant coach Steffen Freund is understandably a busy man on match days, but he found a few minutes to come and say 'hello.' Denny: I love you Steffen Freund. Steffen: I love you too, Denny Watkins. Steffen: 'If you can jump higher than me, you can be a substitute today.' Denny all googly-eyed after being given the VIP treatment. Denny meets a collection of other Spurs Chairmen including: Chairman of the Harlow Branch, Chairman of the Spurs Taxi Drivers (Kent branch), Chairman of the 'It's time to get your round in Wayne...' Denny, Martin, beer 'Banter' Our view from the Park Lane end of White Hart Lane Half time drinks Time to make our way home.
