Waltham Forest Rising is a new grass roots organisation committed to taking action to end violence against women and girls in Waltham Forest.

The group was started by Councillor Clare Coghill, generic Sarah Morgan and Teresa Elwes, who felt that there was a need for a local women’s group to look into violence against women and girls and to take action to help combat this.

Their name is a reference to the One Billion Rising movement started by Eve Ensler -a global tsunami of action to end violence against women and girls.
